A brief note of introduction

I’ve spent the better part of a decade in and around the UK Government, and now work in tech. That will inform some of my writing, but I don’t mean for what I put here to be ‘partial’ in that sense.

Instead I see this as a place for the other kind: half-formed ideas, pet projects, sidequests.

I’m opinionated about almost everything and convinced about very little. The writing will follow that vein.

Currently preoccupied with: how AI will change states, labour markets, the lives of citizens; state capacity and adaptability; failure modes of various kinds.

I’m also partial, among much else, to philosophy, literature, the arts, and industrial design, so those may crop up too.
